Vision

The future

In general our software development environment is growing and is becoming more and more complex. Because of this complexity we have to add more functionality to address value adding domains like distributed development , remote development, change control, process support, Web support and more to come. To remain competitive, organizations must be able to change strategies, adapt to new market conditions promptly and introduce new products or services quickly. We recognize that companies have made significant investments of time and money to customize their original applications. Our solutions are developed to help customers with the development of new applications or with the modernization of their legacy applications.

To anticipate on the demands of our customers and the market we have decided to open new ways to develop our next generation Software Change Management solution.

System i Roadmap

Remain Software is dedicated to the roadmap of the IBM Midrange Systems (AS/400, iSeries, System i) and we therefore take great notion of what IBM deems strategic in the System i portfolio. Our current focal points are SQL databases, Unicode and Virtualization. Virtualization materializes in Static and Virtual Partitions as well as IASP support. Although TD/OMS already supports these concepts, new development and maintenance will always be prioritized towards these topics.

Multi Platform Framework

In parallel to our dedication to the AS/400, System i, Remain Software is working towards the first official release of a 10 year development effort with codename Gravity. Gravity will modularize target platforms and bind them together in one unified change management framework. All of our current technology will find a new place in this project. The first version will be launched in 2011.

Project Gravity is one of our latest initiatives.

With the expertise and know how of 18 years in the Software Change Management industry we are building on an independent and challenging Software Change Management platform for heterogeneous Software Development environments.

Project Gravity is based on Eclipse, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA), OSGI, Multi platform (JAVA) and Multi Data base.

The launch for Project Gravity is planned for 2011.
