Wim Jongman Sessions At EclipseCon Europe 2013

Wednesday, September 11, 2013
Wim Jongman, the Managing Director and CTO at Remain Software and Industrial TSI will conduct three seminars on the coming Eclipse event - EclipseCon Europe 2013 that will take place in Ludwigsburg (Germany) on 29-30th October.

EclipseCon Europe is the Eclipse Foundation’s primary European event designed to create opportunities for the European Eclipse community to learn, explore, share and collaborate on the latest ideas and information about Eclipse and its member companies.

EclipseCon is all about community. Contributors, adopters, extenders, service providers, consumers and business and research organizations gather to share their expertise and learn from each other. EclipseCon delivers networking opportunities that lead to synergies in the community, as well as opportunities to give and receive help on specific technical issues or to generate business opportunities.

Wim Jongman will be the speaker on the following sessions (click on the headline to get more information):

1. Custom SWT and RAP Widgets. Shining in the Nebula.

Wim Jongman will showcase components from the Eclipse Nebula project. After that he will take you out of the Eclipse realm to other sources of cool widgets that will soon come to the Nebula project.

2. Discover Remote OSGi Services (conducted together with Markus Kuppe)

This talk explains how the ECF project will take your existing OSGi service and promote it to a network service. The network service will be peer to peer or it will be registered with a discovery server and advertised to any interested clients.

3. Migration to e4 - be aware of the pitfalls / Shake that FUD; How to migrate your Eclipse 3 legacy code to Eclipse 4 (conducted together with Philip Wenig [OpenChrom] and Lars Vogel)

Presentation of an existing Eclipse 3 application that has been converted to Eclipse 4. Existing 3.x expertise will be used to show the new way of working. Then the conversion of the old application to Eclipse 4 will be analyzed step by step.

This shows how strongly commited to the EclipseFoundation and Eclipse technology we are. Our Software Change Management (TD/OMS) and ALM Workflow Management (Gravity) solutions have been built according to the latest Eclipse Technologies and our sister company - Industrial TSI has been one of the Eclipse Foundation Members since 2008 and we organize various training on Eclipse related topics (Wim Jongman is our key trainer). You can find more information about the Eclipse trainings here.
