What is included in a environment

The environment holds one or more library lists or sub-environments. A library list is a sub-section of an environment. For instance, a development environment can be divided into one or more programmer sections. If objects are transferred to the development environment you can place the objects to be transferred into the libraries of a given programmer. This is illustrated in the following figure.

Here the development environment consists of three sub-environments. The sub-environment contains library definitions. If objects are transferred to the development stage, you are able to (automatically) choose the sub-environment to which the objects are to be transferred. This situation indicates that you can split the development environment into several programmer environments. All offered objects are transferred to the personal library of one of the programmers (except *FILE objects which are transferred to the general DEVELOPDTA library which is defined in every sub-environment.) There are other usages of sub-environments which are discussed in the library list concepts.
