Interface definition

Before you start with the interface you have to inform TD/OMS how it can access the Visual LANSA repository. This can be set in the TD/OMS GUI preferences.

LANSA preferences are automatically retrieved from the LANSA registry settings on the 'local' workstation in most situations. It is possible to override the information retrieved when the information retrieved during the connection process is not correct. This will most likely be the case when multiple Visual LANSA installation are installed on 1 physical machine. Information can be found on the Installation Details tab of the Product Information in Visual LANSA. The Product Information can be found on the Help menu.

You can consider saving the information in a text file by pressing the save icon as it will be easier to find and copy/past from the text file into the TD/OMS LANSA interface preferences.

LANSA db name

The default LANSA db name is LX_LANSA but may have been changed during installation. This name is equal to the value entered after DSN= in the LANSA db connect string.

LANSA db connect

The UID, PWD and DSN values are used when connecting to the Visual LANSA database.

In order to also connect to the database on the IBMi it is needed that the TD/OMS database user (e.g. OMSADM) is part of the QOTHPRDOWN group. QOTHPRDOWN is the owner of the LANSA DB2 database obejcts.

LANSA db URL

The default assumes a SQL ANYWHERE implementation and must be changed when another database has been selected for the Visual LANSA implementation. The value localhost must be changed to the correct system name when Visual LANSA has been installed on a separate machine.

Override upload location

The location specified here identifies the location where Visual LANSA generated components are stored. No value is required when the LANSA db URL contains the value localhost.

The changes made will only be active when the Override db and base LANSA settings with set preferences check box is checked.

Ignore rule that LANSA task must be equal a selected TD/OMS task

An enabled check box will make it possible to select a different TD/OMS task for the components of the LANSA task.

Target for LANSA database queries

Selecting a primary LANSA database only will avoid warning messages when the Visual LANSA database can not be reached.
