How are solutions can help to support your DevOps Team best

Max Verstappens' pitstop team is the fastest in the world.
A nice metaphor to emphasize the strength of a well-organized DevOps team.

Almost three months have passed since the announcement of Milestone 2.

As part of our philosophy that every customer should be a reference we continuously improve and extend our software.

With Milestone 3 we offer again nice new features and improvements to our solutions.
Milestone 3 is available by May 18, 2022.

For more information, please see the highlights below.

Detailed information is available on the Remain extranet for our customers.

WHAT'S IN IT?

New and Noteworthy in TD/OMS V14 Milestone 3 - Upcoming

Event System

With Milestone 3 we offer a new and exciting TD/OMS Event System. The Event System enables you to hook in external programs, called Subscribers.

The event system enables subscription to anything that happens within TD/OMS

The scope of the integration you can achieve with the event system is endless.

The event system will make sure that the event is delivered by storing it in the database and performing its delivery as soon as the user is signed-on. The TD/OMS event system can perform all sorts of tasks like auditing, process triggering, notification, e-mail, and others.

Comment Decorations

Remain wants to provide as much information as possible during the software change management process. A new functionality we have added is Comment decorations.

It represents a little icon that overlays an existing icon, indicating that there is more information available.

All decorations are listed in the picture below. When an item has one or more comments then a little "i" appears in the right bottom corner.

New Interfaces with Zendesk, ServiceDesk Plus and ConnectWise

As part of Remain's mission, we enable integration with well-known third-party software. In this release, we added interfaces to three well known issue trackers.

Zendesk is a cloud-based customer service platform that is designed to improve communication between the company and its customers.

Zendesk users can now easily enhance the software development workflow with IBM i application lifecycle management functionality of TD/OMS. Zendesk will take care of the communication and task flow between team members while version control, automated multi-platform deployment, fallback mechanism, graphical impact analysis, peer review, and other TD/OMS functionality will help users to deliver high-quality code and stable, well-working applications.

In the same way, we have added integrations with Connect Wise and ServiceDesk Plus.

Response delays in Components

Customers have noticed that the Collapsed and Expanded components view can be very slow over VPN networks.

This has to do with decision logic for each record. The decision logic has been transferred to SQL.

As a result, the Collapsed and Expanded views are much faster now.

Copy source to IFS

A new command is created to copy source members from TD/OMS to the IFS location. The command is very versatile.

Once in the IFS, sources can be added to Git, analyzed by SonarQube, etc.

For further details please take a look at the online help of the command CPYTOIFS.

SonarQube enhancement

Our TD/OMS SonarQube interface has been extended with a TD/OMS SonarQube filter to a task. From the SonarQube task filter, you can select a SonarQube issue and connect the issue source file as a solution to the task.

Also, comprehensive SonarQube issue information is now available with the 'Show Issue Info' option, this option will show a dialog with essential information about the selected SonarQube issue.

SonarQube is an open-source platform developed by SonarSource for continuous inspection of code quality to perform automatic reviews with static analysis of code to detect bugs, code smells in 17 programming languages.
