Git Interface for DevOps
TD/OMS, our ALM and DevOps solution, interfaces seamlessly with the Git family solutions and provides an intuitive UI between the Git products, your team’s development processes and TD/OMS. The integration supports easy source management involving multiple environments/platforms to task-based development and testing within isolated environments and more. Results include increased speed, accuracy and productivity, and a confident, future-ready view of your ongoing development.

Advanced Cross-Ref
Have you ever missed a dependency? You know the potential for the negative impact on your production environment and your customers’ experience. Our landscape is changing. In addition to developing IBM i objects, we’ve expanded to include various platforms and languages (PHP, Python, Java) in our applications. Xref, TD/OMS’ reliable and intuitive source code search and cross-reference engine, ensures superb oversight and impact assessment so you don’t miss any dependencies across your enterprise.

Why Use Our Software?
At Remain Software, deployment automation is tightly integrated into our Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and DevOps offering centered on our flagship solution TD/OMS. Designed from the ground up to support IBM i alongside Windows and Unix/Linux environments, TD/OMS provides end-to-end control over software change, testing, distribution, and deployment. This integrated platform allows IBM i teams to:
- Streamline and standardize deployment processes across environments, removing manual steps and reducing deployment failures.
- Maintain full traceability and compliance by tracking all changes and movements of software components.
- Collaborate seamlessly across teams (developers, testers, release managers, and operations personnel) with a shared, transparent workflow.
- Integrate with modern toolchains, including Git and other DevOps ecosystem tools, while preserving the stability and robustness IBM i customers depend on.

WHY AUTOMATION MATTERS
Automation of deployment workflows delivers tangible business value. It boosts efficiency by eliminating repetitive manual steps, reduces errors and rework, and supports higher release frequency, all while freeing up your skilled staff to focus on innovation rather than tedious operational tasks. Industry research consistently shows that automated deployment increases productivity and reliability compared to manual approaches.

OCTO: FEATURED ON IT JUNGLE
In a recent article by Alex Woodie featured on the “IT Jungle” website, Remain Software announced a significant upgrade to its change management software for IBM i, specifically with the release of TD/OMS 16.1. This update introduces several enhancements aimed at improving the development experience for users.
ALLOW INSECURE CONTENT IN BROWSERS
When you want to work with Octo, the TD/OMS REST server must be running on your IBM i. Ideally, this should be a secured connection but many shops do not have an SSL certificate installed and are therefore running on http. This is not great but on a VPN or inside an office it could be acceptable.
CORS EXPLAINED TO RPG PROGRAMMERS
When our customers start working with our OpenAPI Studio product to create REST services in RPG Free, they often struggle with CORS issues. This article attempts to explain CORS using concepts familiar to RPG Free programmers. If you want to see our OpenAPI Studio in action, you can follow this link.
